10th Anniversary Bikers Down Toadstock Patches

Toadstock & Summer BBQ’s:

Well this summer has been a bit of a roller coaster.  You may have noticed we acquired a new trailer for the bbq’s which was very generously donated to us.  Melvin and Terry spent some time fixing it up and welding was donated.  We had to buy tires and license it but it’s been a blessing to be able to move the bbq, fridge, freezers and the new chip fryer around with ease.

We hope to be able to have a special vinyl wrap done on the trailer and offer sponsorship spots for local businesses that want to support Bikers Down as well.  We’ll announce that as soon as we have the details worked out.

Donations have been raised through the weekly bbq’s and at Toadstock after expenses (food, propane, transport, entertainment, grounds rental, etc).  Drum roll please…we were able to raise just over $3000.00 this year!  That’s a big improvement over last year and we are excited to keep building on the success of the event.

Check the Rides & Fundraisers Page for details on upcoming rides as the first two were rescheduled because of rain:

  • PTSD Ride – Sunday Aug 26, 2018 – kickstands up @ 1 PM
  • Angel Ride – Sunday Sept 9, 2018
  • Destiny’s Ride – Sunday Sept 23, 2018

Memorial Donations:

Of recent note, we can announce that we received over $615 in donations in memory of Jeff Trafford at the wishes of his widow.

We have also received over $325.00 online in donations this week in memory of Lloyd Munroe and have been contacted by his family with more donations which were received at his funeral memorial this past Sunday.   We are truly honored to be the recipients of their final acts of kindness.

Some of the donations are directed through the Memorial Fund so we can offer condolences on behalf of the riding community to families who have lost loved ones in motorcycle accidents and we make a donation of $100 to the family when we become aware of their circumstances and contact information.

Please remember to share the website and application with those who might need our assistance as not everyone knows we exist and that our mission is to help out injured motorcyclists who meet the criteria outlined in the application process.

Statistics:

We’re currently working on compiling statistics to publish so everyone can see how we’ve been able to help out in the community and how many riders and families we’ve been able to impact with the funds raised through everyone’s donations and hard work.

At present, we are reaching out for more volunteers to work with the Board members at the weekly bbq’s and on our special events to help spread out some of the work and avoid burnout for the members who show up every week in the summer!

We love and need our volunteers!
