Show Us Your Shirts!

Check out the new “Show us your Shirts” contest running and pinned to the top of the Facebook page.   Running until August 31st – if you bought a Toadstock shirt or a Bikers Down Support shirt at Toadstock, at a bbq or at Riding in Style – post a pic on pinned post and you’ll be entered into the contest for some of the prizes we have left from Toadstock.

Toadstock 2019 was a HUGE success!

We’d like to thank all of our corporate sponsors for helping us with cash and prize donations to make this event come together.

Before expenses, we brought in just under $10,000 this year.  This event was made possible by so many people and we’d like to thank all of you for the weekend we just blew through and blasted Toadstock.

Thank you to all the hard working Board members who threw it all together again, and found an amazing spot to party.

To all our volunteers who worked double shifts and smiled… Amy Mackay, Sally Swinamer, Andrea Williams, Linda Cook, Vicky Smith, Sandy Briand, Mike Lavoie, David Gauvreau, Melvin & Frank Marcelli, Ricki and Catherine, Bikers Down Crew from Cape Breton, the Bay Boys and the Bay Babes – Arlene Whiffen, Lorraine Janes and Joann MacLeod for running the poker hand table.

Thank you to George “Mucker”, Roland “Swifty”, Shawn, Tonya all your crew for making the bike games come together.  Dale Richardson and the Bay Boys for the Loud Pipes contest.   All the clubs who came out and supported! And don’t forget Lady Godiva who recently had a make over and showed up on her bike.

And of course to our hosts Nick and his parents Leonard and Shelly who worked so hard to impress you with the location. River John Fire Department for the fireworks and the community for embracing our event.

Next year, we’re already planning.   Two nights / maybe a dj friday and a band on Saturday?

More photos and video to come of 2019!

PTSD Ride this Sunday August 18th in support of Society of Atlantic Heroes

We will be following the ride route we used last summer for rides.   We tried a new route out to Peggy’s Cove for our first ride of this year but they’ve got Lucasville torn apart and it’s a mess for motorcycles.

Come out and support this ride as the donations will be going to a great organization working to support PTSD.

Their goal is provide Respect and Dignity to Our Veterans and Civilian First Responders
within a Supportive and Caring Home Environment.

Toadstock 2019 Prizes / Games / Fun – Aug 9 & 10, 2019

So much fun, we can’t wait to see everyone this weekend. #Toadstock #bikersdownsocietyns #motorcycles #novascotia

So, we packed the trailer, we gathered up the goods… We have a TON of amazing prizes for you guys this weekend. There will be door prizes, bike games prizes, trophies at the dance and prizes…

Lenehan Musgrave, Riding in Style, Freeman’s Pizza Party, Hemp Heaven, Motorcycle Tour Guide, Liberty CC, Bikers down swag, gift cards, I’m talking SWAG people.

Yep it’s $20 per person per day / overnight. This is charity at its finest for all of our Brothers & Sisters and even if you drop in, we have to pay expenses and come out on the other side so… you know you want to check it out. The Bikers Down crew from Cape Breton will be representing and arranged the trophies for the best buns / wet tshirt / dance shenanigans!

There will be a main gate to register and pay. We will have a Apple Pay set up for credit cards and hopefully the debit will cooperate too. The school is right in the middle of town and I know there’s got to be a bank machine handy.

We have so many fun surprises planned… the weather is looking great, maybe an afternoon shower but we’ll work around that if it comes around. Oh and we packed the guitars for Friday Night Jam!

Can’t wait to see all you beautiful souls this weekend. ML&R

No BBQ August 8, 2019 in lieu of Toadstock Packing

Just a heads up, we don’t normally skip a bbq but we have to pack the trailer and have the fryer all settled down for the trip so we are not having a bbq this thursday night.

We are leaving from Sackville Cross Roads in Lower Sackville at noon to head up to River John.  We normally stop a couple times along the way for gas and coffee.   We’ll be all set up by late afternoon so we can help all you weary travellers coming up friday night get settled.

Friday night is laid back / meet and greet, bonfire and an acoustic jam.

Saturday is jam packed with biker goodness 🙂

Sister station to Q104 up in that area Z97.9 is going to have their community crew come out for a visit!

July Assistance Statistics

So an update as we’re trying to make sure what we keep people more informed on injury applications.

In the month of July, 2019, we had no applications come in.  We did send a cheque from the Angel fund to a family of a rider who was killed in an accident.

If you know of anyone who has been injured in an accident who may need our assistance in Nova Scotia, please contact and we will send you the application, or it can be downloaded from our application page.
In contrast, we received alot of donations in the month of July through successful bbqs, memorial donations for Wade Hall and our financials for 2018 will be posted once received from our accountant.
We have many great things planned for Bikers Down Society and are working to continue our outreach and safety awareness campaigns while we also enjoy the sport of motorcycling.
